Newbie to banana plants, just bought a small Blue Java. Hi!
 

Greetings!

I just found this site via a google search and am obsessively reading old posts and doing searches trying to find the best soil and fertilizer options for my new banana plant friend. I grow mostly succulents and the occasional tomato plant, here in the San Francisco Bay Area (9b).

My baby plant has all of 4 leaves and just arrived in the mail from Florida. I kind of bought it on a whim after learning about Blue Java bananas, but I figure with my penchant for intense research I can probably house it and feed it and keep it alive. No idea if it will ever fruit, but who knows :) Can't wait to learn from you all, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
