New & semi-successful grower

Hi Banana lovers. I moved from Hawaii to South Florida and find the growing a little more involved. I have 4 varieties growing. 2 I purchased specifically for their advantages in the area, and two I dug out of the yard of our old house. Those transplants are the only ones that are succeeding.

I could use your help identifying these good producers.
The dwarf has been the most prolific, fruiting at 3'-4', producing perhaps a dozen hands. It is a very stout plant with a trunk you may see on a 15' variety. The taller variety is moderately successful, perhaps due to some shade of the nearby Oak that needs trimming. It's now fruiting each year with perhaps 20 hands. Culturally, I open compost everything I can find to supplement my sandy soil. I have them on a drip system recently and am trying to determine if it's adequate.

Your pics may be too large. I make mine 1000-1500 pixels on the long side and they will load .

The link is not the picture itself but a page with a java script to call/show the picture. ... Right click the picture and click 'view image'. From that page copy the image url and post with the

Great looking photos.

I do not have full privilege of the albums but I think you can get photos to share on this forum with little fiddling.

Your pics are a tad big 3.5 meg for an upload to the forum so they will need to be downsized a bit.

I hope you can use this as a work around until you get it sorted out.

You can link a single photo or a whole album to a word in a post for a cleaner look till you get things up and running.

You could also use a different image hosting service which a few forum members use such as Flickr

I am much interested in that one that fruits at 3 to 4 feet. I could possibly grow that in a container and bring it in for winter. Would a pup be available this spring??????????

George! Some super dwarf cavendish do fruit at that height! Sadly some do not! The one loges sells does! As long as they haven’t changed their source plant.

I also have a Musa Novak which produces at that height. You can see pictures on my Flickr. Also JD who sells here sometimes has one that produces for sure!!
