New to Posting
Hey Guys,
Someone reminded me of this website and here I am.... I have a question about my DC Banana. I live in Toronto Canada. My Bananas have been actively growing indoors. The mother plant, I had in the basement with minimal light and about 18C from Mid Oct-Early Jan.... minimal water and the basement is about 50-60% humid and I the banana twice daily. The plant kept growing slowly.... but I started to notice the new leaves were struggling to outgrow the last leaf. Basically the last leaf would stop growing before fully opening and a new leaf would be sent up..... I started to cut off and peeling back the older leaves... so I can pull down and out on the newer leaves to let the newest leaf out..... Anyways, in Early Jan I moved it upstairs with my other Bananas.... and it's growing faster now but looks to have the same problem... Upstairs it has a nice window that can get 4-5 hours of Sun... if it's out haha... and it's about 21C |

Re: New to Posting
I figured out how to attach photos. The small one is a pup from the mother plant. I have another pup growing from that pup... so a third generation pup lol.
The big plant is the mother plant. You can see in the last photo the new leaf growing out but the 2nd newest stopped growing or slowed down....[IMG][/IMG] If I don't try to open up the middle and peel away some of the older leaves and cut back... the 2nd newest leaf would stay in a semi-rolled up state while the new one keeps growing until it starts to open up inside the 2nd leaf which is even fully open. |
