New to this page
I just joined up to find out information on colder weather banana trees. I just bought 3 Musa basjoo plants. I live in zone 8 and looking for advice on winter time care. I have seen these plants around this area survive the winters outside planted in the ground. Also what type of soil do they thrive on? Any help would be great.

Re: New to this page
Welcome to the Bunch.
Basjoo in zone 8 wont need any special winter care, Bananas will grow in most any soil. But loose lomey & sandy well drained soil is probably the best. You may need a raised bed if planting on heavy clay soil for improved drainage. |
