A new obsession
Greetings
This is my first post to this forum. I am somewhat new to the world of bananas, having bought my first Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelii' last year. Having successfully brought it through a Calgary winter (zone 3) in my bathroom, it is now suffering - looks more like the Leaning Tower of Pisa than the majestic specimen it has been for the last year. He's a Monrovia specimen of quite a size, still in his original 12.4 gallon pot. This is somewhat embarassing as I am a professional gardener. I feel I ought to be doing a better job. I shall be scouring the archives for cultural information and advice on how to care for/rejeuvenate my "nana". Onced I figure out how to post photos I will introduce him. Regards Gailey |

Re: A new obsession
Those Ensete ventricosums are tough to over winter inside without them getting bendy, so don't feel bad.

Re: A new obsession
He's sicker by the day I'm afraid. I'll post an update on "Species Bananas" later on today. Thanks for your note Gardener!
