![]() Hello everyone,
My name is Richard and I just joined to learn more about growing banana plants. I'm an old Software Engineer looking forward to retirement in a few years (if my IRA survives the current crisis). I had recently started growing citrus trees and my wife asked me if we could grow bananas as well. We have lived in Central Texas(Zone 8) for the last 30 years, but we were both raised on the Gulf Coast of SouthEast Texas and we had plenty of banana plants growing there. I decided we could give it a try and thus here I am, having just purchased 2 Dwarf Cavandish and 1 Dwarf Brazilian plants. I have some questions I will post in the proper forum to help me get these plants off to a good start. I've been impressed with the knowledgable folks you have here and I hope to be able to share my experiences as time progresses. Richard |

![]() Thanks all, for your welcome. I've already received some good advice in the Banana Forum. I'm looking forward to learning more and maybe someday I'll be able to help out a newcomer.
Thanks again, Richard |
