It is my real name. Everywhere else on the web I have a nickname but I decided here I wouldn't do that.

If any of you think that's a bad idea, ha ha, let me know. I thought for once, since this is such a cool site, that it might be good.

I know a lot of people who post to various boards who have never had a problem using their real names, though some tend to be very cautious with all the identity fraud going on these days. I think the bigger issue is when kids use their true names and make it easy for cyber stalkers to find them. I have heard so many stories about that happening that if I was a parent I'd advise my kids not to devulge any personal info.

Welcome, Tommy. I don't think you've made a bad choice at all; personally, I'm the Lorax on a number of other boards, so it just made sense to be consistent. Besides which, it's my job description.

What all are you growing for bananas? It strikes me that Louisiana has an ideal climate for them.

Welcome. We are lucky to have you Tommy MacLuckie. Defenitely, it is a very bad idea. I strongly suggest to use alias in posting thread, private message or chat. When you meet some friends here and are able to talk face to face, if you visit each other, for example, then and only then, use your real name. The members here are OK, but outside of this forum, we cannot tell.

I don't think it matters if you use your real name for your screen name here as long as you don't give other personal details. Most times are names can be found all over the Internet already anyways.
