New Member introductions
Hello to all,
I am very excited about becoming a member of your site. This was my first summer as a banana grower. My girlfriend who lives in Louisville Kentucky got me started. I ordered two from a mail order and pulled one out of her compost bin on July 4th. It is now about 8 feet tall. She digs hers up each fall and stores in her basement. She has good luck with them. I am not sure what I will do with mine, as we do not have a basement. I was wondering about the two small ones coming into the house in front of a South window. Do you think they would survive? The big one is in a large pot and I was just thinking about moving the whole thing into our single car garage. It is on the South side of the house and also has our hot water heater in it. I think if I stored it by the heater it would stay the correct temp. I assume I should not water it at all during the winter months. Do I give it a good drink before storing for the winter? |

Re: New Member introductions
Welcome to the forum! I'm also new here, just that I don't yet have any plant (just plantet seeds).
As I have understood, they should have 10-20°C in the winter, to go into sort of sleep. They do well without water, they might rot if they get much water. Don't think they need much water just before the winter. Look here. Very helpful thread! Gard
