Just thought I'd drop in and do a short intro. My wife and I recently moved into a new house and we decided to start a small orchard in our backyard. When I found out that we could grow bananas out here I decided I had to give it a try. Currently we have a 3 foot Blue Java I've spent the last 2 weeks watching as I moved it around the yard to see how the sun traveled over it. I think today I finally picked a spot for it (sun exposure from 0630-1300ish, it gets filtered sun from a chilean mesquite just behind/above it after that). Everywhere I've ready had mixed feelings on exposure, especially in our very hot desert. Hopefully I've made the right choice... Now I just need to find a spot for the two pups I ordered from a local grower....
Anyways, I stumbled on this site looking for fertilizer suggestions and found crazy banana sells great fertilizer here. Already received a bag in the mail today! Thanks in advance for all the help! -Brian |
