Hello all

I'm new to growing bananas, only have one that was given to me by my daughter. I was told it is a ladyfinger type. Hope to get more come spring.
My wife and I are trying our hand at growing citrus and nanners in middle GA.
Any help on deciding which ones are best would be greatly appreciated. We have added a greenroom/greenhouse to the south side of the house to hopefully protect them from winter cold. Luckily the highest roof point on the house is on the south side. We have at least 12 ft clearance. We have 6 citus trees and one Banana plant.

thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Welcome moondrop!

It would help if we know what climate zone you are in as far as recommendations for nanners and citrus.

One of my favorite citrus is Meiwa kumquat. It can tolerate cold down to 15F though produces better in warm temps. It is slow growing so it's easy to keep it in check for size. The fruit is sweeter than other kumquats with few or no seeds. In my zone 9b climate it produces fruit almost year around.

Thanks Red Sky. I'm in zone 8. Still learning my way around the site. Trying to update profile to show where I am and what zone. I Am on the border of being able to grow many of the nanners and citrus but will be providing protection, Hoping to get a couple Bloomsweets to go in yard unprotected once established. Also setting up area for my bananas to be protected once I get them this coming spring
