New guy
Hi everyone. My name is Kane, and I'm located in south Louisiana. I am currently growing Orinoco, Blue java, Dwarf cavendish, Praying hands,Veinte cohol, Ornata, Saba, Rajapuri, Mysore, Thousand fingers, Seminole, Dwarf Brazilian, Dwarf red, Bordelon and 1780 bananas. In addition to collecting bananas, I also grow a variety of other plants including running and clumping bamboos, bromeliads, orchids, citrus, heliconias, mangos, lychees, plumerias, pineapples and others. I'm looking forward to learning from you all!

Re: New guy
Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcomes! Here is a hand drawing of my future layout of bananas. Only two of the varieties I have are currently growing in the ground, all the rest are in pots ranging from 6 inches to 4 feet tall. In late February/early March I hope to plant most of my bananas in this layout. The top of the drawing is North, where a freshly planted wall of Bambusa Multipex will reduce northern wind damage in the wintertime. The tallest varieties will be planted on the north end, with the shorter varieties being planted progressively further toward the south. I got the idea for this design from Laura Plantation's "Banana Land" in Vacherie, La. Hope y'all like it!
