New in Georgia
I am new here from Georgia. I am also relatively new to bananas. I bought my first one two summers ago for of all places, Ugg, Burgess. Still have no idea what that one is but it is likely SDC, lol. My banana " plantation" consists of just over an acre. I traded for some last year and this year I am buying several and some seeds. Most end up in pots on my porch and go in a very small homemade green house in the winter but as they grow larger have no idea what I will do, the large shed may become an option but not sure they can survive there without heat? Anyway,
So far: Ice Cream Zebrina SDC(most likely, have several small and one large one) Several unknowns Bought and coming: Musa Manzano Musa Dwarf Orinoco Musa "Dwarf Red" Musa Raji Puri Seeds coming or planted: Velutina-had some last year but added rabbit manure and they rotted over winter' Ornata Macro Sikkimensis Sikkimensis(Red Tiger)Yeah, I know ?able. Nagensium Musella lasiocarpa Ornata Bronze I am just dying to have one flower, to have one fruit would be just too wonderful but I would be impressed to just have one flower! Recently I have gotten interested in the whole rest of the family and may expand to those but I think my first love will always be bananas! |
