New but lurking for a month now.

Hello Everyone,

Lee Jones here. I've been lurking here for the past month now and managed to buy a few plants from the group here. I've mostly been grafting and planting different varieties of citrus trees but wanted to branch out to other fruit trees. I did post, at one point, that I was having trouble keeping a Cavendish plant from freezing for the past few years and have gotten good advice on protection during the winter months.

This is my official introduction of myself to the forum. I have learn a lot just from reading past posts and I think that I'm a Nanahead now so i am sooo hooked.

Thanks for your posts,

Lee

Grafting has always fascinated me but I've never tried it.

Welcome.

Hi Lee-

Welcome aboard the Banana Express. :nanerwaveytrain:

I'd say that joining in 2011 and posting an intro now is lurking a little longer than a month or so, LOL.

Actually, that would be snarky. Snarkie is my ex-wife's cat's name. :D

Joining And lurking are two different concepts. Even though I joined back in 2011, I was very active on a site called Texas Rare Fruit Growers. I, however, have decided to to look into other areas of planting and grafting.

Presently, I have 2 different varieties of grapefruit, quite a few different oranges, lemons, satsumas. Mandrins, and a pumello plant. I also have over a 100 citrus rootstocks for fall grafting. Of course, with the citrus green leafing disease, there is a band on moving citrus plants from state to state or county to county. This disease wiped out the citrus industry in Florida.

Typically, one lurks prior to joining, but I'll accept that explanation. :nanadrink:
