Welcome from the great state of Maryland. Do you know the type of banana? Maybe you can post a pic of it. In general, bananas indoors in pots need watering, but go lightly as rot is always a problem. I'd say have it where it has a good source of light, although some of my potted nanas in my basement for the winter are growing beautifully in dim conditions. Don't feed until spring when you can move it outside. Do so in stages as the leaves will be subject to sunburn. Enjoy!

Welcome!

Bananas dont really make great indoor plants and wont grow much indoors, but they are easy to keep indoors. Aphids are a problem and sometimes spider mites are too. Once they go outside they really pick up in speed. Keep them in well draining soil and dont let them dry out. They rot easy, but even if they start to get a little rot, if you repot it and keep it on the drier side, it will recover if it rot didnt get to the stem.

Bananas also make babies at a pretty young age. When the original plant fruits, it will slowly die and the babies will take its place.
