Is my tree dead?
I overwintered my Red Abyssinian Banana Tree using similar instructions to those posted by others (cut back, bare roots) but it appears my tree is dead. I brought it out a couple of weeks ago and repotted it outside but I don’t see any sign of life. It looks brown and pretty dried out. Is it likely dead or still just dormant.?

Re: Is my tree dead?
Welcome to the Jungle....
That plant for me is somewhat challenging to grow and overwinter indoors. The plant requires warmth and good lighting to thrive indoors and when larger has a big footprint. If you cut it back and stored bare rooted there is a good chance it has perished. Like edwmax had said a photo would help us, help you. |
