My lemon trees need you!
 

Hello everyone!
I have a meyer lemon and another who knows what kind lemon tree. I planted them in huge black plastic pots (the kind you get when you buy a plant at the store) with Miracle Grow Moisture Control potting soil about 4 years ago. They did great and the meyer produced 3 lemons the first year and the other lemon had 12 lemons the first year. I had to prop up the other lemon with many bamboo sticks because I didn't want to break the tree. Anyway I had 15 beautiful lemons the first year. I decided I wanted BIG lemon trees so I transplanted them about 2 years ago in the ground. They are not growing at all and won't hold any blooms. They get plenty of blooms but they all blow or fall off. The trees look great, they are just not growing. I planted them according to the directions on the tag on the trees from the store. I cut the main circled root, mixed in the same Miracle Grow Soil with the sand, made sure to make the hole big enough, put a small fence directly around the trunk to avoid the mulch I put around the tree to not touch the trunk, fertilize when I am supposed to, get enough and not too much water etc...
I can understand not getting lemons for awhile but that these trees are the same size 2 years after being in the ground is sad to me. Any ideas for me?

I keep my Citrus in pots becoz of hardiness.. I bet there is HELP on the way tho...I look forward to seeing you around..

if the lemon tree won't set fruit move its 1 to 2 things not enough water or there's a nutritional deficiency. I have the same problem with my lemons turns out I was a watering them enough. Also my soil it's extremely alkaline. So I added some iron. My lemons perked right up! You have to be careful what kind of fertilizer you use. Cheap fertilizer isn't worth the money you pay for it. It often lacks micronutrients. Go out and buy some really good stuff. The more expensive fertilizers are actually less expensive per application then the cheaper ones. Because in the end with the cheap ones you always have to add a lot more. And since they don't have any micronutrients in them they don't really help anyway.
