Is my banana plant (Ensete glaucum) growing too fast?
Itīs been six days since I planted the seed and now it looks like this. Iīve had a "mini greenhouse" by a plastic can on top of it the whole time. How does it look? This is my first plant, thatīs why I'm a little curious.

Hi Cricca, it does not look like an E glaucum seedling to me. More like some weed which was in the soil. The E glaucum shoot is quite thick and light green in color.
I try to upload a pix but there's some problem. You can check my photo gallery under Germination for the E glaucum seedling. |

Welcome!
What you have there is definitely not the germinating seed, especially not after just 6 days. |

Looks like mold to me.

Pic is a little blurry, but it's definitely not a banana shoot. I'm sure it will be pretty obvious when it sprouts. I'm sure your anxious (as you should be!). Well, just keep waiting and I'm sure you'll soon see something that looks much more banana-y. LOL.
