Introducing myself
Hi Everyone!
I found this site because I was trying to figure out what kind of bird made a nest under one of my banana tree leaves! I'm new at growing banana plants having planted my first 4 plants last year. They survived two unusual for this area frosts this last winter and lost all their leaves, but are recovering quite nicely. My plants are named, Big Red, Little Green, Zebra, and Pipsqueak. I probably have the botanical name for 2 or 3 of them somewhere around here! My husband and I have relocated from the United States to the hills east of Ensenada, Mexico. I am looking forward to meeting you all, and hopefully learning a bunch (pun intended) of stuff about bananas! |

Welcome to bananas.org.
Sounds like you are close to Valle de Guadalupe, wine country. We love that area. I bet you have an Oriol bird nest under your banana plant leaf. (Hooded Oriol = bright yellow colored with black hood) |
