Basjoo Or itterians for foliage or start with a dwarf Orinoco for fruit. After you learn more try some others and more expensive ones. Start slow and with a good sized pup or plant. Wait till spring!

Welcome to Bananas.org!!! I split my time between Atlanta and Ormond Beach FL. I never tried growing bananas in Atlanta, but I have had success growing Citrus in pots in Atlanta. So if I can grow citrus in pots in Atlanta, you should be able to grow bananas in pots. Put them outside in full sun during the warmer months and bring them inside to a sunny room for the winter. Maybe try a super dwarf cavendish or a truly tiny. Both are available from many on-line nurseries for example Logees: https://www.logees.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=banana

Good Luck.
