For me, it means that there are constant natural clone variation occurrence in the banana plant. So, if I graft them together, there should be some kind of influence or change in their genes. Well, I think we should study more about the characteristics of the banana plant. What do you think?
It's a point to ponder. Isn't it ?

Mauro there are countless numbers of people that study Musa and the other members of the Banana family more then haft of the world depends on Bananas as there primary starch sores. in addition there are a number of people here on the org. that have jobs in Banana related fields Gab15 for example goes to school and studys horticulture and well as working in a TC lab. IncCube not sure i spelled his name right its my understanding that he is sum sort of expert in this area of study and there are others as well i would say in my humble opinion that Musa and its related sup species are on of the most heavily studied plants in the world to day i only point this out to let you know that theres big resources here on the org and other places that you can go to if you would like to explore more in depth in this area if you do some searches throw the old threads you will find mane topics on such things as TC or cross pollination and varies other subjects and by the way a hearty welcome! to the Org hope you have as much fun as i have here theres a grate bunch of people hanging out here

Re: The insistent banana grower, Mauro

There were some posts here about Mauro's grafting bananas. There were many who oppose his idea and I am one of them. I thought his idea can not be done for having a new species come up after fusing two different bananas corm or stem leaving both roots of its species intact. It is just like planting two different varieties closer to one another which will retain its own characteristics.
Apparently his idea did not work so we did not hear from him anymore.
I grafted a lot of different plums, peaches, nectarines and apricots in my one matured plout tree and when they fruited you can see different colors and shapes in one branch alone. Let alone see the other branches. And none of them did not come up with new species as Mauro suggested.
But I never tried it on bananas because there are no woody parts so I know and I think it's going to be a failure.

: Hi Damaclese, heeere is Mauro back in the forum. I'm doing well if I put my diabetes aside. I drank too much rice wine when young, so now I have to pay for my gluttony. About my experiment, I'm still grafting bananas, just like before, waiting for a miracle to happen. The only difference is that I'm not alone, anymore. After that big noise I made in the forum, I got the attention of a group of scientists in Latin America, all graduated from American Universities and they are using my technique in their experiments in their research center in Central America. They told me they believe in the possibility of grafting banana corms, although nobody else has tried it before. Here is a site I would like you to read:http://www.katewerk.com/chimera.html
I found this article very interesting.
The bananas I grafted last year are already very tall, but I don't know if they have enough time to bloom and bear fruits before the frost comes. My aim is to harvest fresh bananas from my orchard by all means. I know all plants have different natures and characteristics and I have decided to try my luck in grafting bananas. Maybe, I believe in miracles while some people do not.
I have all sorts of fruits trees growing in my orchard and all of them bear fruits. The only plant left not bearing fruits is the banana. So I think I'll just continue my wild experiment.
Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm.
I'll be in touch from time to time. Bye, Mauro Gibo.

Thanks Mauro. I enjoy reading about your experiments with grafting bananas. I haven't tried it yet but I still want to when I have the time. Best of luck to you and don't be a stranger!

Welcome! Glad to hear from ya....best of luck with your experiments. Don't give up just because some think there is no chance...this is how breakthroughs are made!
