Default I broke my banana tree. Help!!!!!

While transplanting my banana tree broke off of the corm. The stalk has 3 little roots but no corm attached. I planted it anyway into the bucket(5gal). And the corm back into the pot it was in. It was root bound with the roots coming out of the top of he soil. Has this happened to anyone else. This is the first time growing one. I'm going to transplant the corm into a larger container to see if another stalk will grow. Please help!!!! Thank you

Hello, Welcome & Happy Growing.. I'd keep it warm in indirect sunlight, and keep it mostly dry till it fixes itself.. but that depends on where your at.. :^)

Thank you for replying. I put them both back by my west facing window. We are new to growing the banana tree. It's looking sad. The leaves are droopy. I hope it comes back. I'm also hoping the corm will send off some more trees. I'm thinking with in the next week I'll know if they both survived. Any other info you may have will be gladly welcomed.

Kabuki.... I'm trying to learn.... Chair pulled up and notebook ready! I'm worried sick that it won't live. Only had it about a year. It's about 3 1/2 feet tall. It's a musa but subcategory I'm not sure. My leaves were not uncurling. It is very tight at the top. That is why I decided to repot it. I had about 3in of sand on top due to shore flys (brought them back from the beach on some sea glass rocks). The sand stopped it. Have it in the lowes bucket. Leaves droopy. Holding out for the best.
