Howdy, y'all from Ecuador
Hello, fellow bananaphiles!
I'm the Lorax, lately of Ecuador. I've got close to 50 plants of various varieties of Musa growing at my house, some of which are just pups and some of which are currently fruiting. I've got tenative IDs on a couple, pointing to Cavendish-types, "baby" bananas, and some giant plantains as well (they just bloomed! I'm hoping for red ones.) They are my first-ever banana-growing experience, as I am originally from so far north that the only place I'd seen bananas growing was on TV; I'd only ever eaten the Cavendish varieties that make it up to Canada. This is much better. Last edited by lorax : 07-30-2007 at 04:24 PM. Reason: good splellar! |

Re: Howdy, y'all from Ecuador
Welcome. I'm new here myself. Just started to grow bananas, having a ruff time getting started. These guys are not easy growers, at least for me. Welcome to the world of home growing bananas. Dorothy
