Howdy from Nor Cal.
Hi all. I'm a backyard gardener (fruit trees and veggies) that has always wanted to try some bananas but here in the Sacramento area most of the garden stores say it's a waste because "you can't grow bananas in this area. It gets too cold".
But after reading about an avid backyard banana grower not less than 15 miles away, I've decided to go for it. I just ordered a few dwarf plants and will probably grow them in pots the first year before putting them in the yard. Looking forward to joining this fantastic community and learning how to grow some tasty bananas. Camp |

Welcome to the banana nut club... There's plenty to learn, so research, research, research, ask questions and above all share pics of your successes and failures.

Welcome to the Org.
I can tell you as a fellow Nor Cal (Livermore) enthusiast you will have zero problems growing edible bananas. As mentioned, pull up a chair and do some reading and enjoy your new obsession :nanadrink: |

Re: Howdy from Nor Cal.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Now I'm waiting for my plants to get delivered. Part of me wants to sit by the front window next to my dog and watch all day long until they get here. (btw, I won't be the one doing the psycho-killer barking... at least I don't think... but I am very excited) |
