Howdy

Checking in from Omaha, Nebraska

These are the two I got on the cheap last summer, doing much better now that they're outside. Ensete ventricosum seeds are waiting to germinate.

Mostly just hanging out and thinking about tropical stuff I shouldn't grow here. . .

A bit more work for you to grow where you live but it is the pleasure one gets from growing diffilcult plants, anyone can grow tomatoes. Although we live in central Florida there are many that we loose from incorrect procedures and wrong locations. Here in the retirement state many grow all sorts of plants and we often pick up some at yard sales and most are unlabled or incorrectly labled so it can be a task at times. Grow a lot, loose a little. We even have some problems with tomatoes but usually can get them to last a bit over a year. They still grow but the harvest drops off so they are replaced. Did have a pepper and a tomatoe plant that lasted over 2 years.
Good growing and stay healthy.

The rest of the back yard is currently fenced off into a hot pepper and beefsteak tomatoe utopia. High hopes for harvest in a month or so.

Sometimes it makes more sense to grow plants suitable for your zone than to fight with ones that aren't.
