Default Hi YaAll...

Well..
Well...Hi...
I'm glad t have found you here... already I've liked it ..agreat bunch of over wintering thoughts..and upon singing up..I was directed to the map and markers for the folks here... In marking myself... you get rightdown to particular houses on the map..although you can't make out particular bananas on my map.. you can surely see the mass of plantings on the roof where I garden.. I have only 6 or so blood bananas here ..and I dig them..shake most of the dirt away.. and put them in my hallway... much too warm.. and light 24/7 [ two skylights..and 450 watts of plant lights ]but it's cooler than the basement... with the 4 waterheaters.. and two furnaces there
Although now they have been dug and are in a pile on the roof.. and with the rain and warm roof temps... they are growing out again.. we've had no frost yet this year..so I'm still on schedule .. I could bring them into the apartment with the other tropicals [ plumeria and brugmansia ] and keep them growing all year...but bananas have a way of making such a canopy that there would be little light for others..
I've also grown to fruit a cavandish type at mothers in AL.. barely wintering in her 17'catheaderal ceilinged house I built for her there ..when it was close to flowering..otherwise it was bagged and laid to rest in the garage..
I'm looking foward to learning more... It's all I can do not to buy an AeAe I think it is.. as I enjoy the varaigated..I'm hoping to hear of losses here..and the impossibility of pulling it off here..although I'm not likely to listen
and perhaps learn of ones I might enjoy ..perhaps for a nominal charge..I'm game.. I already heve too many plants.. so I'm right in line for more..
that's my story..and I'm sticking to it.. Gordon
