Hi from MN
Hi, I'm Sarah from Minnesota.
I currently have one dwarf cavendish banana that I'm hoping will fruit indoors. I think it's probably a little too cold to grow bananas outside year round, but if it wasn't I'd love to try. I'm looking forward to learning lots about bananas. |

Hi Sarah, glad you joined us. Good luck with your DC! It will be hard to get it to fruit and ripen, but perhaps not impossible. A huge container and lots of grow lights in winter, outside full sun in summer will help. Proper feeding and watering in the summer will also benefit your banana plant.
You might also consider adding a more cold-hardy banana plant to your collection to enhance your chances. There is a discussion thread for cold -hardy bananas. Have fun reading and seeing some inspiring pictures from all over the world.
