Hi from Kamuela Hawaii
Aloha
i have lived on the Big Island since 1970. I have been an active organic gardener since then. i grow several different banana varieties including Apple Williams Maoli (Hawaiian cooking banana) PopoUlu (Hawaiian cooking banana) and Lady Finger I am having difficulty in that the lady finger banana gets bumps i have taken it to the local ag department and they determined it was not an insect or a disease but it was just "like that" anybody growing these they are SUPER delicious |

Re: Hi from Kamuela Hawaii
In my opinion, a somewhat poor choice for bananas, but I won't hold it against you!
WELCOME to "the 'org". We all here have the incurable disease of growing bananas ... you'll fit right in!! Quote:

Re: Hi from Kamuela Hawaii
It appears you are in USDA hardiness zone 11b, not 10.

Welcome to the banana nut club. A few years ago I was seriously planning to be your downhill neighbor but we just couldn't make it work... Beautiful area...

Re: Hi from Kamuela Hawaii
I think you need more variety!
You should consider getting more bananas....... Is it just the peel that is having the issue, or does it go into the flesh?
