You say, that you have one snow day, I have 2 or 3 frosty months.
So I have to hide my nanas. But it's worth it I think. Unlike palms, you get that tropical feeling in your garden. And unlike palms, there's fruit on it. Real soon.

I was surprised too, but people from Spain don't usually go near tropical plants. I don't know why. Maybe because you have the driest country in the Europe... Most of Musa prefer high humidity and lots of irrigation.

Good luck growing.
In part, you're right. 3 months ago here that it does not rain. But the north and north-western Spain are very wet, so the whole coast of Portugal, Atlantic Ocean influences.

On the coast south-east and south there are many areas with microclimate-10, is famous Garden of "Concepcion" in Malaga and the garden" Molino del inca" in Torremolinos for its collection of subtropical palms.

I do not think the problem is the lack of rain, that is solved with irrigation, I think it is more for the lack of sensitivity to plants in general.

I hope you will understand everything.
