Hi!!!

Hi Ya'll! This seems to be a nice little site on bananas. I just recently started to grow them down here in McAllen, TX (the Rio Grande Valley), along with my 2 orange trees & tangelo tree!

Hector . . . Bienvenidos amigo, para Puerto Rico ! Quidado Sra. Kitty, ella muy loca y agresiva y simpatico.

This group offers a lot to learn about plants and is fun too. Tell us a little about yourself. Do you have acres or just a garden. What are your plant interest ? Logos

Re: Hi!!!

I find it very hard to say anything nice about wemen (wife is standing behind me reading . . says: tis true !). I said in previous post that you are crazy, but nice person. " simpatico " (friendly). As for the crazy part, just look at the Banana to the left on your I D.

We are all getting too far off the subject of Bananas here. Think the monitors might get on my case ?

I am taking fotos of three varieties I grow but do not know. Soon I will need help identifying. I have a friend up in the mountains who has a huge Musa ensete. I would estimate 30 ft. tall !! I wonder if that may be a record specimen ?

i know what you said in your last post, i do read spanish you know..( that was my elective for school, and i have an 'a' or 'b' in that class.spanish 2 next semester)i have trouble with english and ive spoken that all my life! i thought it was funny. i am antipatica on most days, and soy muy loca everyday. whats life without being crazy? and as to my little nana on the side, i found it on the website were all of the dancing nanas to the right came from. lol. please tell your wife i said hello, and she needs to chat with us on the forum. after all she has to be bananas to live with you. lol! and i dont think the modorators mind too much as long as the conversations stay rated 'pg'. i dont mind as long as conversations stay rated pg. mi via loca over and over...

Re: Hi!!!

THANKS YA'LL!!! I have been living here in the Rio Grande Valley for almost 12 yrs. & I really like it. The pace is not as fast as the other major cities down here in Texas! I came from Houston (lived there for 17 yrs year- pretty much I grew up there, but the traffic is really BAD! But I still root for the Texans, Rockets, & Astros even though they can frustrate the hec outta me!:ropingnaner: I have a small back yard, in which, I have a Cara-cara, moro, Jaffa orange (still small), & an Orlando tangelo tree, a coconut, & 2 banana trees- ice cream & mysore (also small). In my front yard, also small- I have a Spanish dagger, 2 small cycads, a chinese fan palm tree, a small mediteranean(sp?) palm tree, a rosemary bush. To be honest I just started growing all these plants & trees 4 months ago (a new hobby for me to help me lose wt (lost 55lbs in 5 mos.) & to lower my blood sugar & blood pressure)! My doctor told me to lose wt or have a heart attack in a couple of yrs! I'm just 39 yrs. old with a wife & 2 small kid- ages 5 yo & 22 months old!

Hi Phantom, I'm new to bananas too, congrats on all the planting. You seem to be in an excellent zone just for that! I'm a little jealous and Formont my husband is Puerto Rican, his mom is from there as well, I think that's so cool. And I understood what you wrote as well. (And really I can't find a whole lot of nice things to say about people in general sometimes, but I work retail too so maybe that's a given lol)
