Hi
Hi everyone. Thought I make a post and introduce myself. I live in the UK (East Anglia) and have been growing bananas for about 3 or 4 years. I bring them in during the winter and pop out again in the spring.
This year I would appear to have some some suckers at the base of the plants. Can someone with more experience than me tell me if they are viable new plants. If so when or what stage do I cut them from the parent? Thanks. Happy growing. |

Re: Hi
welcome and enjoy your stay... you will want to wait a little longer before you remove the pups you have puictured. they are relying on the mother plant right now so you want to wait until they get bigger and develop their own roots. also, you might want to throw some more soil in the pot so the pups have something to root to. good luck!

Re: Hi
Aloha from Thailand and welcome to the land of the obsessed. I don't know much about bananas, cuz I'm a palm guy, but I'm learning through this forum.

Re: Hi
Is that a pic of more than one banana? The one looks like a Cavendish type, the other looks like it has Basjoo pups.
