There are fewer banana plants here on the Upper Gulf Coast after the 50 hours of freeze in January, coldest in 20 years. People in this area typically have (or had) the old fashioned bananas ('Orinico', I believe) and the ornamental rubras, but I'd like to learn more about various eating varieties...have to hope that the next El Nino tantrum won't happen for another 20 years.
