Hi folks, just joined. we live in Narooma, south coast of NSW, about 300km south of Sydney. it is a town of about 8000 with a cool temperate but (hopefully) frost-free climate. we have just over 100 acres of which most is native eucalypt forest with several small areas of vestigial rainforest with tree ferns. about 20 acres is cleared and north facing, protected from the cool southerlies so it ends up being a very benign micro-environment and so far our bananas are flourishing. we also have a selection of tropical trees, in the ground for about 1 year so too early to tell

Welcome. I've been to Narooma a few times and think it's absolutely gorgeous. Your very lucky to have 100 acres there.
Good luck and keep us posted on how you go with the bananas. If you are ever in Newcastle I have some blue java and you would be welcome to take a pup |
