Hello, I'm a newbie
Hi Everyone:
Today is my first day on this forum. I am making my own gardens and growing fruits and vegetables that I eat. I use no chemicals as I have chemical allergies. Because I have hypertension and my meds leech my potassium, I eat lots of bananas. Therefore, I am getting banana pups of different varieties so that I can have my own bananas. I grew up in a family where we grew our own food and I am trying to get back to that in my own life. Gardening is just one area of interest, I also enjoy fishing, and crafts including basketmaking and quilting when I can find the time. I am trying to get into canning to preserve some of the produce from my garden once it gets going My thanks to the owner and moderators of this group for having me. florence in florida |

If your allergies are to synthetic chemicals, then you can still fertilize your plants with non-synthetic compounds to increase your yields. Apply monthly: For bananas in pots 1/8 cup Urea 46-0-0 1/8 cup Sul-Po-Mag (aka K-Mag) 0-0-22 For bananas in the ground and at least 4-5 feet tall 1/2 cup Urea 46-0-0 3/4 cup Sul-Po-Mag 0-0-22 |

My thanks to everyone who has made me feel welcome. I have checked some of your photos and am patiently waiting for the rain to see my garden get some growth.
If anyone has small pups that are reasonably priced, I am interested. I would love to have my house surrounded by bananas and other fruit trees. One of my interests is also taro another cool plant. I think I am going to enjoy being here. florence |
