I Would Like To Introduce Myself,i Am A Agricultural Post Graduate With Experience In Farming In Different Countries.
At Present I Am Working With Al Batinah International (s.a.o.g)
Oman And Cultivating 200acres Of Banana.the Temp Is In Extreme During Summer And Winter.

I read that you have been in Oman and wondered whether you were familiar with the recent discovery of the Omani I banana? I have read as much as I could find and have seen photos. The significance of this find is precisely the type of banana I wish to grow here in Las Vegas, edible, heat and drought tolerant and unseeded.

Do you know of this banana? Is there any more research anticipated? I sent an email to the founder, but there is no germplasm available at this time. I was hoping that perhaps you had connections there which could result in locating a corm or explant of this banana.

As you can imagine, it could be a significant factor in expanding the range of growth for this banana and subsequent hybrids.

I would be curious to learn any more information that you may have. I am pleased and glad to have you as one of our members.

It sure would be nice to have something like the "Omani 1" growing in Las Vegas! It's simply ideal.

Thanks Chong, yes I have them. I have read the articles and written to them, but to no avail.

Those bananas were ripening pretty evenly. Must be really small bananas, judging from the size of the petals.
