Welcome, Stan!
Zone 9 should do you good!

I agree with Chong, click the search link at the top and plunk in the names of some of your bananas and see what comes up!
Start some new threads, too! Make yourself at home!

Hi Stan. Welcome!

This was my first year growing bananas. I'm in zone 7 and planted 7 different bananas in April. They were all about 4-6 inches tall. I didn't take the best care of them, and still all lived and the tallest (a Manzano) grew to over 6' at the stem with leaves over 12' tall. Some of these just took off until it got cold and they started to go dormant. I dug mine up for the winter and will plant them in spring. Even if they don't make it in dry storage I'll plant new ones next year.

From what i've seen these are for the most part easy to grow about any where. With all the help and info you can get from this forum, it should be a fun, fresh and beautiful breeze for you.

Looking forward to share experiences with you.
Best of luck!
