Hello Banana Friends!
I am so happy to have found this forum! I am a Midwestern transplant to South Florida and am completely ignorant when it comes to tropical gardening. I have a stand of banana plants on the west side of my house. I've lived here for two years and nothing happened with them until a few weeks ago. Now two of them have fruit! I am so excited. They look kind of feeble... only a few bananas on each "hanging down thingy" but the fruits themselves look nice. No blemishes, smooth, green... I will post picture with the hope that someone can tell me what they are and what I should be doing to support a good harvest. Anyway, it's nice to meet you all. Looking forward to learning something new here!

Re: Hello Banana Friends!
Get out the hose and ferts and help out the plant. Pics should make it possible for an ID. Good growing.

Greetings and welcome to the Keys! (I live on Ramrod Key) You will need fertilizer and water to sucessfully grow bananas in our miserable "soil"!
