Default Hello from Annapolis, MD

Need some input concerning a cutting from a cold hardy banana I recently planted. It was about 4 ft. tall when I cut it from the main tree. It looked good until the 2nd day when it began to droop. 3rd day and it is still drooping. It is located in an area where it gets sun about 6 to 8 hours a day while the mother plant is in an area where it gets sun for nearly 12 hours. Could that be the reason?

I always pot transplants/starts and let them rest in a cool not sunny area so they have time to recover and make new roots. Less sun is not the problem IMO.

I've also heard to pot them up and stuck them in deep shade. Once they start to grow you can ease them back into full sun and eventually put them in the ground.

You can also chop off those demanding leaves (no roots to support their thirst) and by the time the next leaves show up, everything should be fine...

Yeppers, I always pot them up at first, and put in the shade till I see some new grow up top. It will survive, but might look a bit rough till the roots re establish, just dont let it dry out.
