Re: Hello
Edit your profile so we know where you're located. I can pretty much promise that nobody will show up in your driveway as long as you don't add your full address. (City, state and zone suffice.) Giving that information does help members/enablers in your area help you decide what musas to add to your collection (1 is not enough--100 might be) and guide you in how to make your new acquisitions thrive.
Welcome to another gardener!

Re: Hello
Sounds like you're into pushing zones--good for you. I went to college in Asheville many moons ago. Returned 30 years later and could find my way around sans maps or GPS despite the changes--holy cow you have a mini beltway! (Grew up in DC--we have a real Beltway there!) Loved my time spent in the mountains in the early 70s. I was not a gardener then; I killed snake and spider plants--often. I do a wee bit better now. BTW, echinacea and gaillardia grow even in Brrrhio--spent a bit of time there also.

Re: Hello
Unless you have a huge, super heated greenhouse, you'll be pushing zones growing musas that produce edible fruits. Without such, it's doable but takes some real effort.

Re: Hello
Then basjoos will work for you. If you're having trouble locating them locally and nobody notices your choice of plants in the next few days, post a wanted on the board; many northern members grow them and probably have pups to spare.

Re: Hello
Welcome! Try some cold hardy plants for fruit. Smaller varieties that are manageable.
Greenhouses can also be made for those long cold snaps. See Pinterist. |
