Hello
What a great site ! I'm impressed with the wealth of knowledge and experience you folks have !! I thought I would become a member of this site as I know nothing at all about banannas and we have many different kinds. My husband and I bought a small farm in Nicaragua and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a identification guide/field guide with good pictures so I can identify all the ones we have growing here. I especially like the little (4" or so) yellow ones with the really thin skin that have a bit of a vanilla flavor. They leave a bananna taste that really lingers in the mouth. We are driving back down in a couple of weeks, just back in the US right now to do taxes and pick up some machinery and equipment for the farm.

Hi and welcome Sue
The easiest thing to do is to upload pictures of your plants in your gallery, then you can start a thread in the banana identification forum and include the pictures in your posts. You can also look in our WIKI where a lot of bananas are listed. Ron |
