Growing bananas in Southern Spain
Hi. I'm a new member growing bananas in the Axarquia region of Andalucia, Spain.. Bananas grow extremely well here in a subtropical climate. I have growing and fruiting well Manzano or Silk. Dwarf Cavendish and Icecream but the great problem here is availability of other interesting species and the fact that suppliers in North America are reluctant to export in small quantities. Any ideas?

There is at present a Spanish firm that sells banana plants to the Spanish Mediterranean coast, Balearic Islands, Cadiz and Galicia.You can contact them at Plataneros - Vigo This is a reply to Roger Hutchins in Malaga province.Best wishes. J.L.
