Talking Greetings from Coastal N.C.

Hi everyone! Thanks for letting me join your bunch.

I live and grow on a small coastal island in southeastern N. Carolina (zone 8),
but I'm a native Floridian with deep zone 10 roots,
and after more than 20 years up here, I still gravitate to subtropicals and tropicals,
adaptation is a slow process, as it turns out ... *sigh* ... I keep trying to turn my tiny plot into the jungle of my dreams.

I don't have many banana plants at this time,
my efforts at keeping them alive through winter are not always successful,
but no jungle is complete without them,
so I do keep trying. (<- need one of those with a 'nanner )

Again, thanks for lettin' me in, I look forward to getting to know y'all.

Thanks for the welcome D&T -
Yes, I do think that I have a lot to learn, and this looks like just the place to do it.
It would be great to get some good, reliably hardy varieties established,
though I know that I will still want to accent with some of the sexy, cold-sensitive types.

I will see about hiring the designer who made this for us: to make one of those with a banana, cool suggestion.

Make yourself at home! Thanks for joining!

Oh, be careful about giving in too easily to my suggestions,
I should confess at the beginning that I am a desperate emoticon junkie ...
but... with that being said,
that one truly does symbolize how I feel when I slam into the zone barrier time and again
(because I am far more well-endowed with stubborness than with wisdom. ).

Oh yup!! SOO much to see/read/learn!!
I could get lost in here for weeks -
say, if you happen find me wasting away in a back corner, in a banana stupor,
lead me gently back to the front gate, would ya?
