Am also new to bananas...planted my first 6 varieties about 6-7 months ago...can't wait to see how they do! I am in South Florida, so climate is not an issue for me.

So far I have planted:

Dwarf Namwah
Dwarf Brazilian
Jamaican Red
Mona Lisa
FHIA 18
Goldfinger

Am considering planting Ice Cream and 1,000 fingers, any other varieties that you recommend would be greatly appreciated.

Sean

Sean,

You need Fhia2, Misi Luki, Monthan, Lakatan, Praying Hands, and Kanderian for sure.

Default Oops

Sean,

That is a typo, should be Fhia3, Sweetheart. Kru is good, very tall, and like most reds, not many hands. Mine has just finished blooming for third time.
