![]() Very excited to join this forum! I live in Central Virginia..zone 7......recently purchased 2 California Gold plants. They arrived in good shape...basically a clump of roots surrounded by a sterile potting mix shipped in a waterproof bag approx. 2+ inches in diameter. The pseudstem was approx. 6" in height and ea. plant had 4 leaves. Ipotted them last Saturday into 6" pots. In the last 5 days ea. plant has sprouted a new full leaf.
My question is: I currently have them in my Florida room with a maintained temp. between 78-82 degrees.....24/7.... I have only watered them once since potting and I check them daily with a moisture & pH meter......all looks good. Is it safe to add a liquid or pelletized fertiler to such a young plant. The original potting mix I used was a STA-GREEN product with a minimal amount of fertilizer in the mix. Any and all ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks All |

![]() I'm far from being an expert.. But if I always fertilize actively growing plants..you can use a balanced time release gradual or a mild liquid like miracle grow... I'm sure there are better choices but that is what I use without issue...good luck

![]() Welcome to the Jungle !!!
![]() From your description of you plants and grow method it sound like your on track.. treat your plant as you would your other plants. When new plants are just potted up like yours or mine, keep the ferts low dose until the plant establishes itself in the container. |
