Blood Leaf Bananas
Very happy to find kindred souls with a common intrest. I am also growing Blood Leaf Bananas and would like to hear from other interested growers. I live in Knoxville Tn. and I knotice that "Big Dog' has moved to Knoxville. I would be interested in communicating with him.

Hello from Nashville, I too have a Zebrina. This is my first year with it so hopefully it will survive the winter. I'm pulling it into the sunroom for winter...

Re: Blood Leaf Bananas
Welcome to the forum!!! Nice to see the Shular name!!! I live in Cleveland, which is only about one hour south of you, in case you are not familiar with Cleveland. I, too, have Zebrinus and a few other bananas as well. When you have a chance, hollar at me and tell me more about what you are growing, as well as a little more about yourself. Always great to see another Tennesseean on board!!!
Here is one of my Zebrinas, and a link to my photobucket account of some other bananas and other tropicals in have in my backyard.... randy4ut - Page 1 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Again, welcome aboard!!!! |

Thanks for the reply, Good picture. I am attaching some more of my pictues. The cluster picture is of a group of bananas that is growing on top of the septic tank. They came back in the spring and are growing profusly I guess from the heat of the septic tank. Are the winters there warm enough for your bananas to come back or do you bring them in for the winter? I have a nephew in Dalton Ga. that can leave his bananas out all winter.
I have 2 acres of what I like to think of as a botanical garden. I love to find new plants to try. I have many gardens, topiary, and water gardens. This used to be a rural areaa but they are building 5 story apartments and condos next door. The developers wanted to buy my property but at 76 years old and I have been here 47 years and I don't want to start over with all the plants I have so I will just be a petunia in an onion patch. You said it was good to see a Shular name. What is you connection with Shular? |
