Banana tree lover
Hello everybody my name is Amy Miller and I am trying to learn about banana trees… So this is my second year of re-planting banana trees and so far so good with that… Last year I decided to leave one in the ground and cut ground level mulched over and covered with hay, now I have a new life - I can see that that experiment worked for me and I am much happy about that… I do not know what kind of trees I have or if they will even produce fruit. But my new growth also had a pup come up and I have taken A saw to cut in between and tried to dig up the little pup… Well the pup so sad to say did not get any roots after I dug it up ....I guess it was just part of that big corm and just Cut right through it ....Is there anyway to put that cut pup in a glass and grow roots in water?????
Thank you so much please advise Last edited by Amy M : 05-13-2019 at 08:39 AM. Reason: I wanted to add words |

Re: Banana tree lover
Welcome to bananas!
BTW: it would be great if you could add your location to your profile, it makes it easier to give reasonable advice... |

Re: Banana tree lover
Double emphasis water "ONCE A WEEK" "MODERATELY". After drowning too many thinking that they "needed" lots of water due to their succulent leaves, I woke up to reality. Costly, but wow are they happy now. AND PLEASE list location - really helpful for any advice (drowning in water I guess is not location sensitive), but everything else is :-)
