banana newbie
Hi, I'm Alison. My "hobby" for good or for bad is collecting seeds from tropical fruits I've eaten or from any interesting plant I see while on vacation. So I have lots of tropical/subtropical fruits growing in my Minnesota basement. A few to mention are cherimoya, canistel, blue lilly pily, mango, citrus, etc.... I had a banana (don't remember what kind) a few years ago. The first year I overwintered it in its pot under lights and it came through just fine. Then I put it in the ground for its second summer and dug it up and repotted it for winter. It rotted. Very sad; I rarely lose a plant.
I'm ready to try again and with all the useful info I've found on this site I'm sure I'll be better at it. Thanks. :doggyandnaner: |
Re: banana newbie
Hi Alison :)
Get your hands on some more banana plants and give them another chance. Most kinds are pretty easy once they get going! |
