Bananas Brindando Back after long absence, Hi everyone!!!

Hello every one! It's been along while since I've been here and now hope to be able to spend more time in here getting to know all of you and learning more about my banana trees.
I do not believe in these things but have to tell you all something that happened last year. I have moved and moved to so many places and carrying around all my banana trees have been...slightly a burden. Had to sell all my Icecream bananas but kept the Orincos. Last fall i walked past one tree I had potted outside and was so tired of taking care of these, making room for them in the house for fall and winter, i looked at the large tree, told it that I am tired of taking care of you and you don't do anything but shoot out leaves that block all my other plants of light and this year I think you are going to die. This is no lie.....that night I noticed a pod growing on the banana! I even have little nanas growing! They are only about 3-4" long but I have nanas!!! It has been 6 months now and they are still very green. When can I harvest them? If anyone would be able to help me on this..that sure would be great thank you

Normally in summer weather six months is more than enough time to ripen, but when temperatures cool for a season growth slows or stops. If you can wait till they start to break color or get very "plump." They may not however if over wintered in a near temperate climate.

I hope this helps,
