Ba-na-na
No, my banana isn't sore.
I was watching "A Passage To India" (1985) with my good lady a few years back, and in the film; Alec Guinness...that is SIR Alec Guinness' character peels and eats a banana of a small species, and my good lady says "I want that" A short time later I saw some very small bananas, Manzano I think, in front of a Chinese market and bought two bunches for her as a surprise, but when I gave them to her she said they were not the same kind.... I just looked up banana types and saw Mysore. If anyone knows the scene and the species from the film please let me know, as I take my gift giving seriously and would like find some for her, if at all possible. Cheers everyone PS anyone else old enough to remember "Super Password" with the wild bananas section? |

Re: Ba-na-na
Haven't seen the scene, but Mysore is indeed a well known Indian type, nice short fingers, a serious favorite among growers. There's several other good ladyfinger types as well. (those short small ones)
