Aloha
Aloha and great to have a resource for Banana growing. We broke with tradition and not only have Apple banana but also have Kluay Kai and a Thai Ice Cream Banana. Our first harvest from two trees was 300. We had to harvest a little early due to the Hurricane Lane that never hit. But they are ripening nicely in the garage. I will try to post a couple of pix. What I am curious about is how far down do I need to remove the stump once bananas are harvested?

I like to leave the mother stem to provide energy to the keiki. If I can I try to cut the rack at the very top. Then when it gets a bit older it can be pulled out.
Or with a different practice you dig the whole mat out once you harvest, make new babies then replant. This helps prevent disease and bug issues. |

I know it's not a Namwah because it is in a windy spot and they break easy. I checked with the nursery I got it from and they don't sell Namwah. They also confirmed that it's a Kluay Khai.
