Drummer Aloha :)

Hi my name is Ang and I'm a new Banana owner. I have two dwarf bananas, one labeled as Dwarf Cavendish and one unlabeled (but by the same grower.) No clue if that is what they are though.

I plan to add some edible varieties such as dwarf orinoco, raja puri or dwarf lady fingers.

Hello Ang Good for you my friend ! You got some bananas and you will be getting more ha ha ha.. Thats how it starts . then before you know it your peeling your home grown bananas and saying "Gee these are so good"
Or maybe you find some non fruiting type just for the way they look.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone I'm sure growing in Washington is going to be challenging and fun. I've been told that here they might not get as big as in the warmer locations and I'm fine with that.

I think my Dad has caught the Banana bug already. He went out and bought one after I did. I think he and my son would really dig some edible ones. I'm ooing and awwing all the pretty banana pictures, edible or not

Welcome from Pensacola Florida.

Washington where the Japanese Maples grow so well. Good luck with your Bananas.

Darkman - they really do. You can see them every where, even in containers. I'd like to learn how to propagate one because someone donated one to my Dad's work.

You can propogate them with cuttings. I think you use hardwood cuttings but it may be softwood. Do an internet search and you'll get the right answer. I ahve a few but we get too hot and humid for them to do well here. There are some Japanese Maple forums out there that should help you.

Good luck,
